BOYS LIE (and everybody knows it)
Here's the demo from 2017. We had just written the song and were showing it to the rest of the students in my academy group. If you listen carefully at the very beginning, Lyn says "just come in when you're ready ok". This was because I was so painfully insecure about my voice at that stage and was definitely battling from undiagnosed mental illness. It's hard to listen back and believe that I'm the same person.
I end up just singing along softly with Lyn, I do love listening to her sing this though, she's magical.

Lyn went on to give me mentoring and vocal lessons and really helped me come out of my shell musically.
I owe alot to her.
Also listen closely for another student (I'm guessing Chrisso) jumping in with what I think it a banjo, it sounds so beautiful.
A note from Katie:
This is the first song off the record and I wrote it in 2017! Can you believe that? I was a student at the CMAA Academy of Country Music in Tamworth and wrote this with Lyn Bowtel. She was the academy director and WOW what a voice she has (seriously, go listen to the demo).
This song was scrawled out in a notebook as a moody, depressed literal biography of my dating life in chronolocical order (how embarrasing!).
Lyn rescued it from deeeeep emo cowgirl, and turned it into the fun and relatable song it is today (thank god!). I performed it for the first time at Wests Leagues club in Tamworth for the Academys final performance event. I was TERRIFIED!
